Opero as was established in 1978. The company employs 46 staff members and serves the interest of about 80 clients.
Opero as is a vocational rehabilitation provider. The goal is to give people, who have not been working or who no longer work, the opportunity to (re)enter the labour market. The company also offers assesment and clarification for individuals that are considering their future choice of work, training etc.
Recruitment of clients and individual plans for reentering ordinary work, are in close collaboration with NAV.
Opero can offer internal work training within the fields of mechanical work, welding and plate work, catering and canteen operations, office-related training as well as training in the child and youth work profession.
Within Law on Vocational Training, Opero as is an approved training establishment in several subjects.
Rehabilitation establishment has both a social and an economic objective. For society, there is a significant advantage that people, who would otherwise be unemployed or under various government assistance, are under the training and education that provides employment qualification, instead. After such a training period, many go out to work in other companies

Opero as as vart etablert i 1978. Verksemda har pr. i dag ca. 90 tiltaksplassar og 36 fast tilsette.
Opero as er ei Arbeid og inkluderingsbedrift. Målsettinga er å gje eit yrkesmessig attføringstilbod med siktemål å føra arbeidstakarar tilbake til eller inn i, vanleg arbeid. Verksemda gjev også tilbod om utprøving og avklåring av personar med tanke på framtidige val av arbeid/opplæring etc.
Opero kan tilby intern arbeidstrening innan fagområda mekanisk arbeid, sveising og platearbeid, catering og kantinedrift, kontorfagleg opplæring samt trening og opplæring i barne- og ungdomsarbeidarfaget.
Rekruttering til verksemda og formidling til anna arbeid skjer i nært samarbeid med NAV.
I h.h.t. Lov om fagopplæring er Opero as godkjent som lærebedrift innan fleire fag.
Attføringsverksemda har både ei sosialpolitisk og ei samfunnsøkonomisk målsetjing. For samfunnet er det ein vesentleg fordel at menneske som elles ville vore arbeidsledige, eller under ymse offentleg stønad, i staden er under trening og opplæring som gjev arbeidskvalifisering. Etter ein slik opplæringsperiode kan mange gå ut i arbeid i andre verksemder.
