Vilnius city shelter for the homeless is a budgeted municipal institution, which aims to provide temporary accommodation and to integrate socially vulnerable people into the society, while using effective social support measures. The mission of the institution is to provide general and social care services for the people in social exclusion in order to achieve positive changes in their lives and restore their ability of taking care of themselves. Vilnius city shelter for the homeless was established in 1993 and is the largest institution of its kind in Lithuania. Up to 300 persons can be supported by social care services at one time. The shelter for the homeless is constantly improving its working methods in managing the large flows of homeless people in Vilnius city and ensuring their survival during the winter seasons. The work is based on values, such as professionalism, responsibility, respect, quality of service, partnership and innovation.
It is the only one shelter for the homeless in the country, which has a functioning Social Services mobile unit with the purpose to inform and consult the homeless and socially vulnerable people about the affordable social support services, while respecting personal dignity and the right of choosing the lifestyle. From 2016 the staff of Vilnius city shelter provide personalized social help, also transporting intoxicated persons or homeless people, who are disabled, from the city streets or hospitals to the department of the shelter „Sala“ or to a neighbouring department at Lenkų street 1/17. The staff of Vilnius city shelter for the homeless regularly upgrade their professional qualifications in order to adapt new models of empowerment for the service users. The institution is introducing new programs for the work with people with addictions, expanding partnerships, publicizing the activities of the shelter and reducing stereotypes, which stigmatize the residents of the homeless shelter. The aim is to become a modern, collaborative, receptive to innovation and changes institution, to create dignified living conditions for service users and to contribute to stigma reduction in the society.
Vilniaus miesto nakvynės namai yra savivaldybės biudžetinė įstaiga, kurios tikslas - suteikti laikiną prieglobstį ir integruoti socialiai pažeidžiamus asmenis į visuomenę, panaudojant efektyvias socialinės paramos priemones. Įstaigos misija yra teikti bendrąsias ir socialinės priežiūros paslaugas socialinę atskirtį patiriantiems asmenims, siekiant teigiamų pokyčių asmens gyvenime bei grąžinant jų gebėjimą pasirūpinti savimi. Vilniaus miesto nakvynės namai įsteigti 1993 m. ir yra didžiausia tokio pobūdžio paslaugas teikianti įstaiga Lietuvoje. Vienu metu socialinės priežiūros paslaugas joje gali gauti iki 300 paslaugų gavėjų. Įstaiga nuolatos tobulina darbo metodus, geba suvaldyti didelius benamių asmenų srautus Vilniuje bei užtikrinti jų išlikimą šaltaisiais metų periodais. Vadovaujamasi tokiomis vertybėmis kaip profesionalumas, atsakingumas, pagarba žmogui, paslaugų kokybė, partnerystė, inovatyvumas. Gyvenamosios vietos neturintys asmenis apie jiems priklausančias socialines paslaugas informuojami gerbiant jų asmens orumą ir gyvenimo būdo pasirinkimo teisę. Nuo 2016 m. darbuotojai teikia individualizuotą socialinę pagalbą, pagal iškvietimus vyksta pervežti neblaivius asmenis arba benamius, turinčius judėjimo negalią iš miesto gatvių arba ligoninių į filialą „Sala“ ir filialą, esantį Lenkų g. 1/17. Įstaigos darbuotojai nuolatos kelia kvalifikaciją, siekdami pritaikyti naujus paslaugų gavėjų įgalinimo modelius. Įstaiga diegia naujas programas darbui su priklausomais asmenimis, plečia partnerystės ryšius, viešina įstaigos veiklas, mažina stereotipus, stigmatizuojančius nakvynės namų gyventojus. Siekiama būti modernia, bendradarbiaujančia, atvira naujovėms ir pokyčiams įstaiga, kurti orias gyvenimo sąlygas paslaugų gavėjams, prisidėti prie stigmos mažinimo visuomenėje.
