The Kaunas House of Generations was founded 25 years ago. It is a mixed social services institution, which ensures and provides the social services needed by the residents of Kaunas. 40 elderly persons receive long-term (or short-term) social care; 7 families receive social care in the Temporary Living Home for mothers and their children, two more families live in the Independent Living Home, and 25 residents of the city visit the Day Centre for the Elderly. General social services (escort services) are also provided to mothers and children leaving the Temporary Living Home in their place of residence. Thus, three different generations find shelter here. The qualified staff have significant experience which can be used by similar services and new organizations. The EQUASS quality standard is intended to be introduced for long-term/short-term social care for the elderly.
Kauno kartų namai įkurti prieš 25 metus. Tai mišrių socialinių paslaugų įstaiga, užtikrinanti ir teikianti Kauno miesto gyventojams reikalingas socialines paslaugas. Ilgalaikę (trumpalaikę) socialinę globą gauna 40 senyvo amžiaus asmenų; socialinę priežiūrą Laikino gyvenimo namuose motinoms ir jų vaikams gauna 7 šeimos, Savarankiško gyvenimo namuose gyvena dar dvi šeimos, o Pagyvenusio amžiaus žmonių dienos centre lankosi 25 miesto gyventojai. Teikiamos ir bendrosios socialinės paslaugas (Palydėjimo paslaugos) išėjusioms iš Laikino gyvenimo namų motinoms ir vaikams jų gyvenamojoje vietoje). Taigi, čia pastogę suranda trys skirtingos kartos. Kvalifikuotų darbuotojų sukaupta reikšminga darbo patirtis, kuria gali pasinaudoti panašias paslaugas teikiančios bei naujai besikuriančios organizacijos. EQUASS kokybės standartą siekiama įdiegti ilgalaikės/trumpalaikės socialinės globos paslaugai senyvo amžiaus asmenims.
